How to build trust and relationships at work when you’re new to the Norwegian job market.

From Stranger to Trusted Colleague is a hands-on workshop for members and mentors in Sammen om en jobb who want to understand how trust works in Norwegian workplaces and what they can do to build it.

We will discuss trust, risk, and what can help lower perceived risk. Through short exercises we’ll look into how different people interpret the same action, and consider how some actions reflect core values whilst others can be adjusted.

Torhild Skårnes, managing director of Asfalt, shares her experience of leading teams in the Philippines and working in Norway, and participants map where their own workplace experiences sit between task-first and relationship-first trust, and between flat and hierarchical leadership.

Each participant leaves with input on how to start building trust by showing up, keeping small promises and staying in touch with the people who help them.
