Kompetansebro soft launch

Having worked with international job-seekers for years, we know the challenge is rarely lack of information. It's navigating it: finding the right groups, the right people, and knowing what to prioritize first.
Kompetansebro gathers vetted information, organisations and resources for internationals in one place: from preboarding, through arrival to job-seeking and the mentor program. It also gives partner organisations across Norway more systematic access to what we know and to the mentor program.
Kompetansebro is funded by Sparebankstiftelsen SR-Bank, with technical support from Accenture, development funding from The PA Foundation, and (so far) pro bono resources from Simonsen Vogt Wiig, Unique Communication and Hervé Gaudin / Norsk konsulent. Haugaland Vekst, Visit Jæren, Blizbi and Caritas Stavanger are collaboration partners.

Speakers
Erik Løland from Sparebankstiftelsen SR-Bank will tell us about what the foundation saw in this project.
Laura Buchan moved to Norway with her family when her partner was offered a job here. Living in Norway had been their goal for a while. Laura never dreamed it would be this hard to find work: it took her a couple of years, and many detours, to land on a strategy and find an employer who saw her value. She now works at Lærdal Medical. She will share her journey — what she wishes she had known before moving, and what she'd have done differently with better information.
Anne Marie Skeie is a senior associate with law firm Simonsen Vogt Wiik. She is contributing to Kompetansebro with pro-bono resources about the labour law in Norway. She will share why it is so important for internationals to understand the legal framework as they enter the formal workforce.
Tone Indrelid, Sammen om en jobb Rogaland, built Kompetansebro. She will show the data behind the project and a mockup of the finished landing page.

The event is hosted in Innovasjonsparken, Professor Olav Hansens vei 7 in Ullandhaug. Building i2, in the Atrium.
