Welcome to a workshop where we discuss how trust is built in a Norwegian context - or not. We aim for shared experiences and learning, and contextual clarification. You don’t have to agree with the “rules of the game”, but we believe understanding opens the way for informed choices.

Sammen om en jobb members are expected to actively engage in the job-seeking process, including committing time and following up on agreed activities.

This workshop makes explicit how reliability is interpreted in Norwegian working life, and why it matters so much.

Regardless of individual constraints, repeated failure to follow through on commitments—especially without communication—will typically be understood as a lack of motivation or professionalism.

Our aim is not to judge, but to hear each other’s differing views, clarify how signals are read, and enable you to make informed choices.

📌Facilitators:

Tone Indrelid is an anthropologist and language instructor who has worked in the intersection of language, culture and communication for 10+ years, and lived in India, Oman, Syria and Malaysia plus Norway. She leads Sammen om en jobb Rogaland.

Torhild Liane Skårnes is an interculturalist with extensive leadership experience from the Philippines, who shares her insights through Instagram, in Japan Intercultural Institute’s excellent podcast and through regular events at Stavanger Chamber of Commerce (Næringsforeningen i Stavanger). Torhild has been a mentor at Sammen om en jobb for several years.
