We pair your employees with an individual job seeker (mentee) from the same industry but from a different culture. The program lasts for 6 months, and the pairs meet 1–2 times a month. Over the course of these months, the pairs will get to know each other, exchange experiences, and learn from one another. The goal is for the mentor to gain new perspectives and knowledge, and for the mentee to make progress on their journey toward relevant job.
The mentoring program is diversity training in practice. In a 2016 report, the Harvard Business Review specifically highlights mentoring as one of the most effective methods for creating diverse workplaces. It works so well because it is based on personal commitment, relationships, and mutual learning. There are no requirements or expectations regarding the hiring of mentees in the program, but it happens regularly and is a major bonus.
A partnership can take on various forms, depending on your needs and preferences. Below is an example of what a partnership might look like. We recommend that the company “allocate” one to two hours per month for the mentor to spend on the program. Many companies allow employees a certain number of hours per year to spend on volunteer initiatives, and the mentoring program might fit into this framework.
Step 1: Planning and Recruitment
We assess your priorities to ensure that the program best meets your needs and goals.
We are holding an information and recruitment meeting where your employees can sign up to be mentors.
Step 2: Implementation of the Mentoring Program
We match the agreed-upon number of your employees with job seekers from our database and follow up with them for six months.
We offer relevant courses and workshops throughout the program, either online or at your location.
Step 3: Conclusion
When we wrap up the program, we'll gather data and feedback and help you with the reporting.
