2025 was a year of intense activity and significant growth. The Norwegian Center for Integration of Highly Educated Immigrants and Refugees ( Sammen om en jobb ) strengthened its role as a national leader in the integration of highly educated immigrants and refugees.
We facilitated 170 matchmaking sessions, which is a new annual record. Since our inception in 2017, we have facilitated a total of over 780 matchmaking sessions. At the end of the year, the organization had 427 members, and over 1,000 unique participants took part in our courses, events, and networking sessions.
We held over 100 events in Norwegian and English, both online and in person. Activity was highest in the regions around Oslo and Stavanger, where we also recruited the most new members. With support from the Sparebankstiftelsen Nord-Norge Foundation and Troms County, we began the process of establishing an office in Tromsø.
With funding from the Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDi), we further developed a national digital program that makes the service available regardless of where people live. Experience shows that the combination of local and national initiatives results in greater reach and higher quality.
2025 was also the year in which the Norwegian Association for the Advancement of Women ( Sammen om en jobb ) took a significant step forward as a membership organization, with an increased focus on political advocacy and systemic change. We were among the hosts of the national hearing on poverty and organized several events during Oslo Innovation Week on how Norway can better utilize existing expertise.
Our collaboration with PA Consulting and Accenture contributed to the further development of the digital learning and networking platform. Over the course of the year, we launched new features that give recruiters and partners access to the platform and strengthen the connection between job seekers and the workforce.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our steadfast and long-standing funding partners at the City of Oslo’s Welfare Agency. We would also like to thank Akershus County, Agder County, and Rogaland County, as well as Sparebank 1 Østfold and Akershus, for their support of our projects. A special thank you also goes to our mentors and members, who make all of this possible.
“Sammen om en jobb ’s about more than just finding a job—it’s about belonging.”
– member, 2025
This quote sums up the essence of our work. “ Sammen om en jobb ” is meant to be a place of community, support, and belonging. Because the sense of belonging to a community is about more than just finding a job. We look forward to 2026.
Best regards,
Ndey, Tone, Miguel, Vilde, and Erlend
