As a member of Sammen om en jobb’s Learning and Networking Community, you get access to weekly courses and events, over 80 tools and resources, over 20 groups where you can meet others and get answers to specific questions, as well as Norway’s largest network of mentors and highly skilled job seekers. If you use the community effectively, it can go a long way toward helping you find a relevant job, but with so many features, it can be hard to know where to start. In this article, you’ll find ten tips on how to get the most out of the community.
1. Sign up on the digital platform 👩🏿💻
The digital platform provides an overview of everything you need to know. If you are not yet a member, you can become one by registering. For more information on how to access the platform, click here.
2. Join relevant groups 📌
Once you have logged in to the digital platform, go to“Groups.” Be sure to select “All active groups” in the top right corner. Join the groups that are relevant to you, and select your preferred settings to ensure you don’t miss out on important tips and information.
3. Say Hi! 👋
Find the group that's the best fit for you and introduce yourself. Write a short description of who you are and what kind of job you're looking for. You can also upload your resume or VideoCV. In addition to introducing yourself, you can also use the groups to:
Ask questions about the job search process
Share tips or tools to help others
Plan a meetup
Anything else related to job hunting or mentoring
4. Update your profile ✏️
Once you've introduced yourself, other participants may want to know more about who you are and what your background is. Make sure your profile is up to date by clicking on your name in the upper-right corner, then selecting “My profile.”
5. Join events 🗓
We hold weekly events for job seekers and monthly customized events for mentors. You can find an overview of upcoming events here, or under "Events" on the digital platform.
6. Start an online course 🎓
If the time or topic of our events doesn't work for you, our online courses are a good alternative. The online courses can be found under "Learning" on the platform and include more than 80 resources, spread across 24 modules. Together, these cover most of what you need as a new job seeker in Norway, as a first-time mentor, or as someone looking to accelerate their language learning.
7. Check out our member benefits 🎁

8. Contact someone 💬
Under "Network," you can see other participants who are part of the community. Maybe there's someone it would be helpful to get to know? You can send a message to other participants by clicking on your name in the top right corner, then selecting "messages." Keep in mind that not everyone uses the platform actively or has the same amount of time. If you don't get a reply, try someone else.
9. Sign up for the newsletter ✉️
Once a month, we send out a newsletter featuring the latest news, useful tips, and an overview of upcoming events. You can sign up for the newsletter here, and unsubscribe whenever you want.
10. Try the self-matching
If you’ve been accepted into the mentor program, you can find your own match through self-matching. If you’re not yet part of the mentor program, or if you don’t find any relevant matches in the self-matching section, take a look at our guide to the mentor program.
11. Adjust your settings ⚙️
Do you receive too many emails and notifications from the digital platform? Or would you like to be notified more frequently? You can customize your settings by clicking on your name in the top right corner, then selecting "Settings."
