A job network is a peer group where you support each other in moving closer to relevant work in Norway. It works best when everyone contributes actively and takes responsibility for both their own progress and the group’s learning. Before joining, take a moment to understand what you can expect — and what is expected of you.

What can you expect?

In the job network, you meet others who are in a similar situation and who want to grow professionally. Together, you share experiences, test ideas, and help each other move forward.

You can expect:

  • Structure and momentum in your job search

  • Practical tools and exercises you can use right away

  • Honest feedback and new perspectives

  • Motivation, accountability, and support from peers

  • A stronger professional and social network

The group is a space to learn by doing — not just listening.

What is expected of you?

A job network only works when everyone participates actively and respectfully.

We expect you to:

  • Come prepared and contribute to each meeting

  • Share your experiences, ideas, and challenges

  • Listen as much as you speak

  • Give constructive and supportive feedback

  • Respect confidentiality and different perspectives

  • Take responsibility for your own progress between meetings

Success in the network often looks like being curious, open, and generous with your knowledge — not dominating the conversation or waiting for others to “fix” things for you.

What you cannot expect

A job network is peer mentoring, not professional career coaching.

This means:

  • There are no mentors from Norwegian companies

  • You will not receive individual job placement or recruiting services

  • Participation does not guarantee a job

What you do get is something just as valuable: committed peers who help each other take concrete steps forward.

The more you engage, the more you will gain — both for yourself and for others.
